Joshua Gen Solondz: We Don’t Talk Like We Used To

Friday, Nov 17, 2023 at 7:15 pm

Location: Bartos Screening Room

With Joshua Gen Solondz in person

Unearthly, mind-bending explorations of abstracted feelings, the recent films of Joshua Gen Solondz are situated somewhere between the travelogue and the diary film. This program presents Solondz’s latest film, the sprawling, spreading We Don’t Talk Like We Used To alongside a set of personally selected works by the artist’s friends, influences, and teachers, including Christina Nguyen, Tiffany Sia, Rajee Samarasinghe, and Luther Price. Together these films create a conversation over time and space that feels soberly ecstatic: expansive and suffocating, abundant and sparse, joyous and dreadful.
