Accessibility
The Museum is committed to making its facilities accessible to all visitors. Discounted admission ($3) is available for people with disabilities, and free admission is extended to one accompanying care partner. Visitors may present their half-fare MetroCard, Access-A-Ride ID, or speak to a Visitor Services Associate upon arrival. These may also be presented to be eligible for a Student/Senior membership.
All of our workshops and school programs are adaptable for visitors with special needs. If visiting with a school group, please specify student needs when scheduling your trip so we can best prepare for your visit.
The Museum has sensory kits available upon request at the front desk for autistic visitors.
Wheelchairs
The Museum is fully accessible by wheelchair. A wheelchair is available to borrow free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are not accepted. ID must be left with Visitor Services staff.
Service Animals
Guide dogs and animals for assisted therapy are welcome at the Museum.
First Aid
Visitor Services and Security staff are available to assist with first aid.
Access Mornings at MoMI
Offered the first Saturday of each month (June 2023–May 2024), free Access Mornings at MoMI are dedicated to families with children on the autism spectrum and give families an exclusive opportunity to explore exhibitions and participate in workshops that begin at 11 a.m., before the Museum opens to the public.
Activities range from hands-on craft-making to digital video workshops facilitated by trained Museum educators and local puppeteers. To reduce overstimulation in the galleries the volume is reduced or turned off and videos unrelated to the program’s theme are kept off.

Admission Policies
All ticket sales are final—no refunds or exchanges. All tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Unless otherwise noted, film tickets may be purchased in advance online or in person. There is a $1.50 transaction fee per ticket for all online purchases. (Transaction fees are waived for Museum members at the Individual level and above.) Same-day general Museum admission is available to ticket holders for an additional $5 per ticket.

Visitor Information
Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult of 18 years or older. To ensure the safety and security of the Museum’s artifacts, strollers, umbrellas, and large bags (including all backpacks) are not permitted in the galleries. These items may be checked for free at the admissions desk. Gallery admission is free for New York City teachers with valid ID (tickets for screenings are not included). Admission is also free for active duty service members in uniform or with proper ID. Group visits may be arranged by appointment. Mobile Devices
Cell phone calls are not permitted in the galleries or theaters. Silent use, such as text messaging, is allowed in the galleries only.
Free Public Wi-Fi
The Museum offers free public wi-fi throughout the building. To access, please select the network "MomiPublic." Once connected, open a browser to accept the terms of service; then enjoy up to five hours of high-speed connection.
Photography and Recording
Photography, videography, and audio recording for personal use is permitted in most gallery and lobby areas of the Museum unless otherwise noted. Flash photography, tripods, and camera extension poles (selfie sticks) are not allowed anywhere in the Museum. Photography, videography, and audio recording are prohibited in the theater during screenings. No photographs, video, or audio recording or transcriptions may be reproduced, distributed, or sold without written permission from the Museum.
Food and Drink
Food and drink are available for purchase in the café. Food and drink are not permitted in the Museum's galleries. Popcorns, snacks, and water purchased at the Cafe are permitted in the theaters. No outside food or drink are allowed in the Museum or its Courtyard.
Group Visits
Moving Image defines a group as ten or more persons who arrive together. Groups are eligible for discounted rates; reservations required. MoMI is not responsible for lost, misplaced, or stolen items. If you have left something behind at the Museum, please call 718-777-6800 or email secure@movingimage.us with a description of the item.
MoMI Member and Visitor Code of Conduct
Please review the visitor guidelines outlined below prior to your visit. Museum of the Moving Image strives to create a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors. Any action or behavior that is disruptive or potentially harmful to others, such as verbally abusive, harassing, discriminatory, or threatening statements or behavior toward museum staff, volunteers, or other visitors is prohibited.
By visiting the Museum online or in person, you agree to abide by these policies, and Museum of the Moving Image reserves the right to ask those whose conduct violates these guidelines to leave the premises and may result in the termination of membership.
Examples include:
- Violence, threats of violence, or violent language
- Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory language
- Personal insults, particularly those related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability
- Unwelcome photography or recording
- Unwelcome physical contact
- Unwelcome sexual attention, including sexualized comments or jokes, inappropriate touching, groping, and unwelcome sexual advances
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following (online or in person)
- Disruption of programs, including film screenings or events
- Leaving minors under the age of 14 unattended. All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an individual 18 years or older.
- Soliciting, loitering, political campaigning, selling of any kind, distributing or posting of unauthorized materials.

GEORGE S. KAUFMAN COURTYARD RULES
In order to make the Courtyard an enjoyable setting for everyone, please note the following:
- There is NO littering. Please place all garbage and recyclables in the appropriate designated containers.
- There is NO smoking or vaping allowed anywhere on the premises.
- Ball-playing or throwing of any objects is prohibited.
- There are no bicycles, e-bikes, gas or electric powered mopeds, or motorcycles allowed on the premises.
- The playing of radios and the use of sound reproduction devices are prohibited.
- The operation of drones or remote-controlled electronic devices are not allowed on or over the premises.
- Electrical outlets are not for personal use.
- Barbecues and grills are not permitted on the premises.
- Tents, cabanas, canopies, and Gazebos are prohibited.
- Signs, banners and flags are prohibited without the permission of the Museum of the Moving Image.
- No outside food or drink (excluding water).
