Working on It (Day One)

Wednesday, Mar 13, 2024 at 12:00 pm

The Working on It program offers a lab-like environment for work-in-progress screenings, workshops, and discussions about the artistic process. This year’s edition will take place during the afternoons of March 13–15, and is open to the public

Day One

12:00–3:30 p.m.: Reverse Shot Emerging Critics Workshop (PRIVATE)

12:15 p.m.: Work-in-progress screening: a film by Angelo Madsen Minax (PRIVATE/INVITE ONLY) (Bartos Screening Room)

3:30 p.m.: Director Pilar Timpane and Producer Christine Delp present sample scenes from work-in-progress feature documentary Querida. When Pope Francis lends his ear to Catholics worldwide and dramatically shifts Vatican precedent, an international coalition emerges to elevate women’s roles in the Catholic Church. With unprecedented access, Querida braids the journeys of a North American female minister and an Amazonian nun as they navigate transformative change within a polarized and historically male-dominated church. (Bartos)

4:30 p.m.: Director Yaara Sumeruk and producer Laura Coxson share scenes from their new nonfiction film in development, UNTITLED SANITY FILM. The session is both a presentation of the work and a conversation with the audience on the unique method Yaara is implementing in the film. (Bartos)

Followed by a reception sponsored by Lismore Road.
