Location: Bartos Screening Room
Cuba. Dir. Gerardo Chijona. 2017, 88 mins. Digital projection. With Carlos Enrique Alminrante, Isabel Santos, Enrique Molina, Vladimir Cruz. In Spanish with English subtitles. A hilarious dark comedy about a modern-day Robin Hood (if Robin Hood were a serial killer) starring some of Cuba’s biggest stars. Tito is 23 years old, has a mother who adores him and a car that earns him an honest living. To his neighbors, he is a formal and educated boy. Nobody knows the pragmatic vision of life hiding behind that façade, a vision that implies committing terrible acts for which, perhaps, one day he will pay.
