Dir. Chantal Akerman. 1978, 127 mins. DCP. With Aurore Clément, Jean-Pierre Cassel, Magali Noël, Helmut Griem, Hanns Zischler, Lea Massari. In one of Akerman’s greatest films, Anne Silver (Clément), a celebrated Belgian filmmaker, lives a lonely, disconnected existence. As she tours cities in West Germany, Belgium, and France with her work, she passes through anonymous, depopulated spaces like a ghost. Along the way, she has encounters with strangers, ex-lovers, and even her mother in a nighttime confessional that threads the needle between terrifying intimacy and glacial remove.
Tickets: $15 / $11 senior and students / $9 youth (ages 3–17) / discounted for MoMI members ($7–$11). Order tickets. Please pick up tickets at the Museum’s admissions desk upon arrival. All seating is general admission. Review safety protocols before your visit.
