Sex leads to danger when the women hatch a plan to steal nearly two million dollars of embezzled money from Caesar. Rather than devolve into femme fatale clichés, Bound allows the audience to fully identify with its two brash leads as they try to make a better life for themselves—and the filmmakers brilliantly ratchet up the tension. This groundbreaking queer thriller pointed towards the Wachowskis’ ongoing career of subversive images and characters.
