Join us by Zoom for two live discussions hosted by the MoMI Education Department’s Filmmaker in Residence Leonardo Santana Zubieta and Deputy Director Sara Guerrero-Mostafa. The first session is designed for students who have questions about how to make short movies. The second session, for parents and teachers, is designed to share tips for creating short videos to teach anything online. With these simple strategies and resources, learn to enhance media for distance learning and engage kids creatively through the media arts.

MoMI’s Education Department serves 70,000 students per year with our interactive learning experiences dedicated to film, media, television, internet broadcasting, and video games. As one of the most important art forms and communication tools of our times, the moving image provides a unique format for cultural critique and creative expression for all ages.

For free media-making tutorials and student digital exhibitions, check out our YouTube channel, Moving Image Studio, featuring tools and resources for students and families to create their own media. Learn how to make your own animated stop motion short with objects you can find around the house, guided by MoMI Media Instructor and Film Curator Tiffany Joy Butler in a mini-lesson on public service announcements and stop motion. Each week we will be adding new tutorials, mini-lessons, reviews and other resources for media-makers of all ages.
