All Jacked Up and Full of Worms

Saturday, Feb 3, 2024 at 6:00 pm

Location: Bartos Screening Room

With Alex Phillips in person!

Dir. Alex Phillips. 2022, 72 mins. DCP. With Trevor Dawkins, Phillip Andre Botello, Betsey Brown, Mike Lopez. Two strangers fall in love while consuming hallucinogenic worms together. Their psychotic bender takes them on a downward spiral through the back alleys of Chicago and into the primordial ooze. Though hard to categorize, this feature length debut from Alex Phillips has become a festival midnight favorite for its wildly dark comedy and singular, squirm-inducing tone.

Preceded by:

Dir. Ariel Zengotita. 2020, 10 mins. DCP. With Nate Pringle, Audra Todd. Richie wants nothing more than to just sit back and watch movies all day. But with college courses piling up and a nagging mom calling every two seconds, peace may be further out of reach than he imagined. And then there’s the parasitic booger stuck on his finger, the gross centerpiece of this viscerally uncomfortable short presented by horror media company ALTER.
