A Conversation with Mehrdad Oskouei and Siavash Jamali
Ongoing
The films of Mehrdad Oskouei are without comparison in contemporary cinema. The Iranian documentarian has given voice to those who have been habitually and systematically silenced—including, prominently, his country’s incarcerated youth. His easygoing, engaging style of observation and conversation with his subjects has allowed for scenes of both heartbreaking intimacy and transcendent joy. Coinciding with Museum of the Moving Image’s retrospective of four of his works, including his latest, Sunless Shadows, Oskouei and his producer Siavash Jamali will visit us for an online conversation with Curator of Film Eric Hynes.
While this event is free, we hope you will consider supporting the Museum with a donation. MoMI’s staff is working hard to fulfill its mission via remote programming. This comes with opportunities to experiment but also profound challenges. Your support is critical to ensure our work remains vital and visible to a broad public. Suggested donation: $10.
