Puppet, Yoda, c. 1990
Description
Yoda figure from The Empire Strikes Back (1980), created by makeup artist Stuart Freeborn. The figure is primarily composed of green foam latex and fiberglass. Its fingernails, toenails and eyes are made of plastic. It is clothed in tattered wool pullover robes and has a leather belt and pouch, a wood walking stick and a metal medallion on a leather necklace. The figure is mounted on a wood base with metal mounting brackets.
Historical note
This Yoda figure was made for the Museum by creator Stuart Freeborn, with molds used to create the original puppet character.
