The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson
Ongoing
In honor of Jim Henson’s birthday (he was born on September 24, 1936), the Museum presents The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson, a tribute first aired on CBS in November of 1990, just six months after Henson’s untimely passing. A clip-filled retrospective, it features appearances by Carol Burnett, John Denver, Ray Charles, Steven Spielberg, Harry Belafonte, Frank Oz, and a backstage storyline in which the Muppets try to figure out the best way to honor a man who always gave them a hand. As a bonus, Craig Shemin, president of the Jim Henson Legacy, will also present some rare Jim Henson television appearances.
Tickets are included with paid Museum admission on a first-come, first-served basis. Museum members may reserve tickets in advance. View the Museum’s ticketing policy here. For more information on membership and to join online, visit our membership page.
