It is 1964, the Rolling Stones appear on television, and three best friends from the suburbs of New Jersey decide to form a rock band, in the film directorial debut of legendary writer-director David Chase, who created the acclaimed HBO series The Sopranos. The screening of this wry and rocking coming-of-age film, which was the official Centerpiece of this year’s New York Film Festival, will be followed by a conversation with David Chase and John Magaro. Rated R for pervasive language, some drug use, and sexual content.

This screening is presented as part of the series New Visions, in association with Persol. The Museum is pleased to continue its partnership with Persol, which began in 2011 with the first installation of PERSOL MAGNIFICENT OBSESSIONS: 30 stories of craftsmanship in film. The Museum hosted the second installation of the three-year exhibition in June, 2012.
