Dir. Musa Syeed. 2016, 82 mins. Digital projection. With Barkhad Abdirahman, Fathia Absie, Faysal Ahmed, Christina Baldwin, Ifrah Mansour, George McCauley. An outcast among the outcasts of Minneapolis’ large Somali refugee community, Adan (Barkhad Abdirahman) has nowhere to go. Turned away by his mother and friends, he moves into a local mosque where he lands a job and rediscovers his faith. But when Adan nearly hits a stray dog on the job and takes it in for the night, he is kicked back to the streets when his fellow worshippers deem the animal impure. Suddenly the dog is his only friend as Adan tries to keep his faith and get through the night.
