The Souvenir

Jul 12 — Jul 26, 2019

From acclaimed writer-director Joanna Hogg comes an enigmatic and autobiographical portrait of the artist as a young woman, brought to life through Honor Swinton Byrne’s breakout performance. A shy but ambitious film student (Byrne) begins to find her voice as an artist while navigating a turbulent courtship with a charismatic but untrustworthy man (Tom Burke). She defies her protective mother (Tilda Swinton) and concerned friends as she slips deeper and deeper into an intense, emotionally fraught relationship that comes dangerously close to destroying her dreams. An A24 Release. View trailer.

“Byrne is a revelation, and Julie is an embodiment of the awkwardness and heedless grace of young adulthood almost without precedent in the movies. For the duration of The Souvenir, nothing in the world is more important than what will happen to her.”—A.O. Scott, The New York Times

Please note: The 2:00 p.m. screening on Saturday, July 13 is free for Members at the Film Lover and Kids Premium levels and above. All other New Release screenings are discounted for Members ($7 / Free for Silver Screen members and above).
