These Academy Award–nominated films catalog family stories to provide foundations for reframing the filmmakers’ own personal histories. Lise Yasui dives deep into the family trauma of her ancestors affected by internment during WWII, while Ascher and Jordan follow the contemporary economic collapse affecting farming families, predominantly through the lens of Jordan’s struggling family farm in Iowa.
Tickets: $15 / $11 senior and students / $9 youth (ages 3–17) / discounted for MoMI members ($7–$11). There is a $1.50 transaction fee per ticket for all online purchases. The cost of admission may be applied toward a same-day purchase of a membership.
