Location: Redstone Theater

Director Deniz Eroglu in person

Dir. Deniz Eroglu. 2025, 90 mins. Netherlands/Germany/Denmark. DCP. Turkish-German visual artist and filmmaker Eroglu ventures into the nether regions of German history across three allegorical episodes: a remote nursing home on New Year’s Eve 1982 (“Mutiny”), a shifty bureaucrat paying a visit to a Congolese family on a sweaty summer’s day in the countryside (“Boarding”), and a tribe of deviant nomads roving the Medieval wastes (“Drifting”). Displaying remarkable formal sophistication with a dazzling composite of film stocks, formats, digital VFX, and even AI, this provocative narrative triad forms a surreal, often comic, sometimes unnerving, and always fascinating treatise on contemporary Germany, its meaning, its history, and its libidinal unconscious. North American premiere
