Ingrid went on to become a writer of autofiction, while Martha became a war reporter, and they were separated by the circumstances of life. After years of being out of touch, they meet again in an extreme but strangely sweet situation. Pedro Almodóvar’s luminous, first English-language film is based on the novel What Are You Going Through by Sigrid Nunez. Winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. A Sony Pictures Classics release, in select theaters December 20.
