EXHIBITION, INSTALLATION

Sasha Stiles at MoMI

Oct 25 — Nov 14, 2024

Location: Schlosser Media Wall

Transforming the poem she wrote in MoMI’s Exhibition Reader for Auriea Harvey: My Veins Are the Wires, My Body Is Your Keyboard, Sasha Stiles’s video explores the ability for deep connection cultivated through the web. The poem directly draws from the initial online trysts between Auriea Harvey and Michaël Samyn, who first met online in the late 1990s. A line from the poem is flanked by work from the artist’s CURSIVE BINARY series, a proposed language informed by asemic writing and computer science, fusing human cursive handwriting with binary code to create a symbolic bridge between humans and machines. The Exhibition Reader, featuring Stiles’s poem and other contributions, is available for download from the MoMI website.
