Lovecraft, the master of cosmic dread, Re-Animator is a modern update of the mad scientist trope and a quintessential work of delirious 1980s splatter mayhem. With outrageous special effects and a standout performance by Jeffrey Combs (From Beyond) as the film’s deliciously deranged namesake, Re-Animator endures as one of the great horror films of the era.
