Marvels of Media Game Lab Exhibition

Mar 27 — Mar 29, 2025

These five video games are filled with boundless creativity, communicated through fantastical worlds and unique puzzles. The innovation behind these games provides a sneak peek into the talent and imagination of autistic game designers.

A Night for Flesh and Roses
Elliot Rex White, Game Designer. 2024. In the visual novel A Night for Flesh and Roses, the player investigates a strange gothic future, meets the creatures living within it, and constructs a body that goes beyond natural constraints. This piece imagines a world where transgender surgery is neither bound by medical institutions and governments nor limited to a default body but freely given and spontaneously generated. A Night of Flesh and Roses continues the tradition of indie games that are messy, trans, and full of monsters. Content warning: body horror, gore, transphobia, some explicit written content.

Tech Kids Unlimited Games
Marvels of Media Festival is proud to share four playable video games that visitors can experience in Museum of the Moving Image’s Game Lab. Walk and jump through creative worlds, increase your score by collecting keys and coins, and use hints to solve your way to future levels. These platformers, inspired by retro games like Super Mario Brothers, were created by students from Marvels of Media partner Tech Kids Unlimited, an organization dedicated to empowering neurodivergent youth through computer science principles and technology skills. One of the games was created by Tech Kids Unlimited’s Digital Agency, an advanced program for young people who learn differently and complete creative tech projects for real clients.
