Part of Jim Henson's World
Introduced by Craig Shemin, President of The Jim Henson Legacy
In 1979, John Denver appeared on The Muppet Show, collaborated with the Muppets on a record album, and rounded out the year by joining the characters for an ABC television special inspired by the record (the first of two TV specials Denver would create with the Muppets). The show includes such holiday classics as “The 12 Days of Christmas,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Silent Night,” and culminates in a presentation of the nativity featuring a new puppet cast built especially for the show. We’ll celebrate the 45th anniversary of John Denver’s 1979 Muppet hat trick with a screening of this hard-to-find Christmas special, along with some additional classic Henson holiday clips.
