Jim Henson’s 1975: A 50th Anniversary Retrospective

Sunday, Mar 23, 2025 at 1:00 pm

Location: Redstone Theater

Presented by Craig Shemin, President, The Jim Henson Legacy and Karen Falk, Director of Archives, The Jim Henson Company

Featuring panelists Rollie Krewson (Puppet Designer/Builder, Performer) and John Lovelady (Puppet Designer/Builder, Performer)

As we begin our celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Muppets and the Jim Henson Company, we also commemorate the 50th anniversary of a very big year in Jim Henson’s career: 1975. From The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence to appearances on Saturday Night Live, Cher, and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, Jim Henson’s characters were all over television in 1975, while Henson and his collaborators were starting work on The Muppet Show, which would make its debut the following year. Join Jim Henson Legacy President Craig Shemin and Jim Henson Company archivist Karen Falk as they present rare programs and clips from this very special year and discuss them with some of Jim’s collaborators from the era.

Tickets: $17.50 / $12 senior and students / $10 youth (ages 3–17) / free for MoMI members at the Senior/Student level and above. There is a $1.50 transaction fee per ticket for all online purchases. The cost of admission may be applied toward a same-day purchase of a membership.

Order tickets. Please pick up tickets at the Museum’s admissions desk upon arrival. All seating is general admission.
