Jim Henson: Commercials & Experiments (Revised and Remastered in HD)
Saturday, Mar 12 at 1:00 p.m.
Friday, Mar 25 at 3:00 p.m.
Location: Redstone Theater
Part of Jim Henson's World
Hosted by Craig Shemin, President of The Jim Henson Legacy
This mind-blowing collection of shorts, crazy commercials, and other rarities from the Henson vault was one of the Jim Henson Legacy’s first compilation screenings, and now, it is even better: remastered in high definition from original film elements and revised with newly discovered material—some of which has not been seen in 50 years. Highlights include an industrial film for Wilson’s Meat that must be seen to be believed; excerpts from experimental TV programs The Cube and Youth ’68; and a stunning 4K restoration of Time Piece, the eight-minute Oscar-nominated experimental masterpiece directed by (and starring) Jim Henson himself. The program runs approximately 85 minutes.
Tickets: $15 / $11 senior and students / $9 youth (ages 3–17) / Free or discounted for MoMI members. Order tickets. Please pick up tickets at the Museum’s admissions desk upon arrival. All seating is general admission. Review safety protocols before your visit.
