Jane Henson in Performance

After the two met in a puppetry class at the University of Maryland, Jane joined Jim in building and performing puppets on local television station WRC-TV, bringing her own creative talents and sharp sense of humor to the Muppets’ earliest projects, which included their first television show, Sam and Friends. While Jane performed less as their family expanded, she remained Jim’s business and creative partner, contributing to a variety of projects and serving as a company talent scout.
