Dir. Pete Docter. 2015, 95 mins. DCP. With the voices of Diane Lane, Mindy Kaling, Amy Poehler. Oscar-winning writer, director, and animator Pete Docter (Toy Story; Monsters, Inc.; Up; WALL-E; Soul) takes us inside the mind of Riley, an 11-year-old girl whose emotions are plunged into chaos after she moves to a new home. Psychologist Paul Ekman was a science consultant on Inside Out, where he helped with the development of the film’s main characters: five principal emotions that shape how Riley perceives the world. This acclaimed, delightful, heartfelt film endures, and a sequel is in the works for next year.
