Digital Badges & CTLE-Accredited Professional Development for Teachers and Youth

Museum of the Moving Image provides CTLE-Accredited Certificates and digital badges to demonstrate achievement and professional development for staff and youth. These badges reflect the achievements of students and teachers taught by our team of filmmakers, audiovisual artists, and game designers. The badge also certifies that the participant has completed a comprehensive exploration of the Museum's galleries, where media history and content creation intersect.
Museum of the Moving Image offers digital badges for high school, college, and graduate school students, including teachers of all content areas and other education professionals. Digital badges are introductory, hands-on workshops exploring the technologies of various moving images, a diverse art form encompassing film, television, video games, animation, and other multimedia that capture image motion.
Guided by a media educator, teachers explore using the moving image as an instructional tool for engaging students with fun media activities. Courses like Augmented Reality, Audiovisual Storytelling, Chroma Key Art, Creative Digital Media, Documentary Design, Filmmaking Foundations, Game Coding Elements, Game Design Intro, Intro to Documentary, Intro to Sound Design, Stop Motion Creation, and Intro to Virtual Reality are also featured in our professional development programs.
All activities presented in our programs are easily modifiable for a wide range of learners, and help engage students in diverse subjects, including social studies, civics, English-language arts, math, science, art, and English as a second language. Professional development classes and workshops are offered virtually and onsite in the Museum’s Digital Learning Suite and Media Game Labs. Every session includes hands-on media-making. Teachers receive CTLE credit and digital badges for all courses and workshops.
