Historical note
By the mid-1950s, the market for televisions in the U.S. had become saturated, and ad campaigns promoted the idea that one television per household was not enough. A magazine ad c. 1956 describes this GE unit as a “hospitality” television that “rolls anywhere for ‘wherever you are TV fun.’”
