Dirs. Woody Allen, Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese. 1989. 124 mins. With Nick Nolte, Patrick O’Neal, Rosanna Arquette. In Life Lessons, his segment for the anthology film New York Stories, Scorsese explores the relationship between the creative process and romantic angst, as Nolte plays a painter dealing with an ex-girlfriend and a creative block.
